The Mentorship program provides six months of one-on-one mentorship to a small group of Alberta-based licensed early learning and child care programs to develop and implement culturally responsive practices tailored to the unique needs of their children and families.

- Build your own supportive network for shared learning with other early learning professionals and sector organizations.
- Bring the Spark Guide to life by weaving its strategies into your everyday practices in ways that honour the unique identities and strengths of your children, families, and team.
- Grow your knowledge of culturally responsive care and feel confident in recognizing and valuing the diverse cultural identities, worldviews, and ways of knowing present in your learning community.
What You’ll Experience:
- Direct Mentorship: Receive personalized on-site and virtual support from cultural partners with deep experience in the Spark Guide, child development, the Flight Framework, and relational, culturally grounded practices.
- Community Connection Meetings: Join monthly gatherings with fellow program leaders to reflect, share experiences, and engage in supportive small-group discussions focused on culturally responsive practice.
- Funding Support: Programs are eligible for compensation for the hours dedicated to this training if they qualify. ARCQE will provide the funding directly to qualifying programs. Please DO NOT apply to the Government of Alberta directly for release time funding.

Upcoming Cohort
ARCQE is currently accepting new early learning and child care programs into the October to March cohort. This cohort will also include a Francophone stream for Francophone early learning and childcare programs that will be facilitated entirely in French. If you are interested in joining the Spark Mentorship Program, please fill out the expression of interest form below. Only programs that are selected to participate will be contacted.
