On March 31, we recognize National Indigenous Languages Day, a time to celebrate and support the preservation, revitalization, and transmission of Indigenous languages across generations. Language is at the heart of identity, culture, and knowledge, carrying the stories, traditions, and resilience of Indigenous communities. Yet many Indigenous languages are endangered due to historical and ongoing impacts of colonization. Honouring and uplifting these languages strengthens connections to culture and fosters belonging for Indigenous children and families.

Explore the five resources below and visit the Spark Resource Hub for more ways to celebrate and support Indigenous language revitalization in early learning and child care.
